Hideaki Itakura is my name but many of my overseas friends call me “Smiler” by nickname.
Being an octogenarian and half-retired, I’m still actively enjoying my life in the northern kanto area within 100 km and less than an hour by train from Tokyo, which is full of beautiful nature including mountains, rivers, lakes and hot springs, national and world cultural heritages, local traditional arts, industries old to ultra-modern and even delicacies. Those are all what I am very proud of and would like to introduce to you visitors and tourists to enjoy here in Japan.
-Nikko National Park having Toshogu-shrine, Rinnouji temple, Kegon falls, the Daiya river, lake Chuzenji, Kinugawa-Kawaji-Yunishigawa hot springs, etc.
-Nasu-shiobara mountains and hot springs
-Mashiko pottery, handicrafts, Yuki vegetable dyeing, bamboo works, Bonsai (dwarf tree) culture, others
-Industrial complexes with car-manufacturing plants to precision instrument plants, big and small
Happy to guide small or family size group (2 to 3 persons) to drive you around for myself.
